The American Brain Tumor Association (ABTA) has been a leader in the brain tumor community for over 50 years, funding groundbreaking research, advancing education, and supporting patients and caregivers across the nation. To date, the ABTA has invested more than $36 million in research grants, while continuing to expand programs that directly benefit families impacted by brain tumors.

One of the ABTA’s most inspiring events is the Breakthrough for Brain Tumors 5K (BT5K). The Los Angeles BT5K brings together survivors, families, and supporters to raise critical funds and awareness for brain tumor research. Nationally, the BT5K has generated over $18 million to support ABTA’s mission of improving, extending, and ultimately saving lives.

This year’s Los Angeles BT5K will take place on October 18, 2025, at Crescent Bay Park in Santa Monica. The event is more than just a walk — it’s a chance for the community to honor loved ones, celebrate survivors, and make a lasting impact in the fight against brain tumors.
